If you live in Mobile, you’ve likely heard the term "LSD" thrown around, and no, we aren’t talking about the 1960s! We are a Local Service District, a unique form of community governance found right here in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Change is in the air—and not just in our weather! Recently, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador introduced the new Towns and Local Service Districts Act. This new legislation replaces the old Municipalities Act and changes how Local Service Districts (LSDs) like ours operate. As your LSD Committee, we wanted to highlight a few key changes that help us serve Mobile better. 1. Clearer Powers and Responsibilities The new Act provides a more modern framework for how we ma
